What is Fast Payment System (FPS)?

The Faster Payment System (FPS) is an online payment system which is introduced in 2018 by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and managed by Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (HKICL) to enable real time payments in Hong Kong. On a 24/7 basis, it offers customers and merchants a safe , reliable and widely available retail payment service. FPS provides an option for individuals and companies to make payments in real time in multiple currencies-Hong Kong dollar (HKD) and Renminbi (RMB).

Is it Free of charge?

Sending HKD or RMB to almost anyone in Hong Kong is free of charge, but it depends on the bank’s policy. Some banks will charge few HKD dollars per one transation. Please inquiry your bank on it.

Can I use Payme to send FPS?

Yes, you just need to open Payme apps and scan the QRCODE. FPS QRCODE is compatible with Payme app. It means Payme can scan the FPS QRCODE and make the payment as well.
